The multimedia artist Liu Chuang graduated from Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in 2001. Ranging widely in theme and medium, many of Liu’s works use ready-made objects specifically of Chinese origin in order to examine the country’s immediate realities. His presentations of these items often integrate video, installation, architecture, and performance. Since 2010, his works have frequently been exhibited internationally.
